Fish & Richardson Principal Michael Florey Named 2016 Intellectual Property Client Service All-Star

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Feb 22, 2016) - Fish & Richardson announced today that Michael Florey, a principal in the firm's Litigation Practice Group, has been named a 2016 "IP Client Service All-Star" in BTI Consulting Group's prestigious survey of general counsel from the world's largest corporations. Florey was one of only 30 intellectual property (IP) attorneys selected nationwide for the Client Service All-Star list, which highlights lawyers who deliver superior dedication to client service.

According to BTI, the common traits shared among the All-Stars are a focus on client needs and goals, thought leadership, business understanding, legal skills, good value, and outstanding results. More specifically, the 30 IP attorneys stood out to clients because of their ability to provide IP strategy in a way that enhances a company's goals, whether in relation to its technology, product line, or revenue stream.

"These attorneys look beyond the patent, trademark, or IP issue in front of them and see the broader perspective. They see the impacts of IP law and where it is headed and provide advice, like when clients ought to change the way they apply for protection to avoid exposure or risk," said BTI President Michael Rynowecer in an interview with Law360.

At Fish, Florey focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology litigation, including all aspects of patent litigation -- patent infringement, ownership, inventorship, misuse, and damages -- as well as trade secret litigation. His areas of expertise include medical devices and life sciences. He has substantial trial experience including bench and jury trials, Markman and Preliminary Injunction hearings with live witnesses, and trials before the American Arbitration Association.

Inclusion in the 2016 BTI Client Service All-Star list is based solely on interviews with more than 320 general counsel and legal decision-makers at large organizations with $1 billion or more in revenue. During those interviews, BTI asked in-house lawyers to name the attorneys who have provided them with unbeatable service. Law firms and their attorneys have no influence on the rankings.
