Fisher Investments' Ken Fisher Recognized by Investment Advisor Magazine

Founder and CEO Selected as One of the 25 Most Influential People in the Investment Advisor Community

WOODSIDE, CA--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - Investment Advisor, a leading publication for independent advisors and financial planners, recognized Fisher Investments' founder and CEO Ken Fisher as one of its 25 most influential people in the advisor community for 2011. For the past nine years, Investment Advisor's editors have selected the annual list of leaders (IA 25) for their influence on the investing, practice management, technology, and regulation universe in which advisors operate.

In selecting Fisher for the 2011 IA 25 list, the magazine cited his investment savvy and accomplishments in building Fisher Investments into one of the largest and most respected RIAs by focusing on client service. "Fisher has built [Fisher Investments] by doing well for clients, to be sure, but there are other elements to Fisher's success that smaller independent firms may learn from," the magazine observed. In response, Fisher said, "What the little guy can do as he or she grows, is provide focused service, which the wirehouse broker really can't. The wirehouse broker is a salesperson -- not really a service person." Last year, Fisher was also named to the magazine's "30 for 30" list as one of the industry's 30 most influential people in the last 30 years -- the first such time they have awarded such recognition.

Fisher has been writing for Forbes for over 25 years and is the fourth longest-running columnist in the magazine's history. A New York Times bestselling author, he has written seven books on investing and wealth creation, including How To Smell A Rat, The Ten Roads To Riches, The Only Three Questions That Count, Super Stocks, The Wall Street Waltz and 100 Minds That Made The Market. His latest book is New York Times bestseller Debunkery: Learn It, Do It, and Profit from It -- Seeing Through Wall Street's Money-Killing Myths. In addition, he has authored or co-authored more than a dozen papers featured in academic journals and reviews. Fisher has also been recognized by CXO Advisory, an independent research firm, as being a top-ranked market forecaster.1

Members of the IA 25 are profiled in the May issue of Investment Advisor, and include notable industry veterans such as SEC Chairman Mary Shapiro, FINRA Chairman Rich Ketchum, Senator Tim Johnson, and other leaders in the field.
