Fisheries and Oceans Canada: Closed Area for Shellfish Harvesting on the North Shore

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to toxicity, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish area:

Banc Marie-Marthe (Ile Laval)

From a point at east of Riviere Laval's fairway to a point on shore, north of Ile Brulette's west side, including Ile Laval (Banc Marie-Marthe).
