Fitness First Appoints Faster Health and Fitness for Elite Trainer Scheme

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2010) - Fitness First is reinforcing its commitment to quality training for staff with the launch of a new elite scheme for personal trainers.

The country's largest gym chain has joined forces with the new and innovative FASTER Health and Fitness to run a pilot programme to produce the high quality of personal trainers required to ensure Fitness First remains market leader in the UK.

Faster Global is quickly becoming the UK's leading education provider, and the initial scheme will see FASTER offering training programmes for personal trainers in five of Fitness First's 159 clubs – under the banner Fitness First Elite Trainer Scheme.

The contract is a major boost for FASTER Health and Fitness, which was set up in 2006 by John Hardy and aims to provide the industry with the leading personal trainers for the future using its infamous functional training methods.

"Our training focuses on ensuring that candidates who leave us have the technical knowledge they need to be the best in the business but we are also innovative in our approach," said John. "Candidates are issued with an iPad to store all the training information, an iPod for video content and we mentor everybody to ensure the very highest level of personal trainers are working in this industry."

He said the project with Fitness First was a real vote of confidence in the quality of training FASTER Health and Fitness provides. "To be working with the country's leading gym chain is tremendous for us and we will be working closely with Fitness First to produce tailor made programmes for candidates working in its clubs."

Fitness First UK fitness director Derek Crawford said that quality staff in all aspects of the business is a crucial element to the company and innovative ways to improve expertise are a priority for Fitness First.

"The success of every club is built upon the expertise of our staff and personal trainers thereby ensuring that we can inspire, motivate and mentor our members effectively. Only then can we help them reach their goals," said Derek. "With FASTER Health and Fitness we are looking to build a long term relationship to set industry benchmarks for the future."

Initially, FASTER will be running the Fitness First Elite Training Scheme at clubs in Poole, Solihull, Cardiff, London and Leeds.
