Fitness Industry Council of Canada: Media Advisory- Photo and Interview Opportunity

TITLE: Local fitness clubs across Canada listed on Gympass.ca are waiving all drop-in fees for the public on June 1st 2013 in support of a National Health and Fitness Day.

What: Fitness Industry Council of Canada, a proud supporter of National Health and Fitness Day has encouraged over 500 clubs across Canada to waive their drop-in fees on June 1st 2013. We invite the public and the media to attend National Health and Fitness Day by viewing Gympass.ca and visiting a local participating fitness club in their area. Media is welcome to interview/photograph the club(s) activities on National Health and Fitness Day.

Who: National Health and Fitness Day is open to the public. Owners and operators of fitness clubs listed on Gympass.ca are available to be interviewed by their local media.

When: June 1st 2013 - all day event according to the participating clubs Saturday hours. Media should contact the particular club to ensure the owner or operator is available for the interview.

Where: Any participating fitness facility across Canada that is listed on Gympass.ca.

Why: In support of MP John Weston's Private Members Bill, National Health and Fitness Day revolves around educating Canadians about the importance of staying fit through physical activity - it encourages local fitness facilities to open their doors on a complementary basis on the first Saturday of June each year. This act strives to benefit Canadians by encouraging participation in healthy physical activities.
