Five British Columbians Honoured with BC Creative Achievement Awards


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 20, 2013) - Five British Columbians will be recognized on Wednesday with The Carter Wosk BC Creative Achievement Award for Applied Art and Design.

WHO: Hon. Coralee Oakes, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development will present the 9th annual awards.

WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Presentation at 5:30 p.m.)

WHERE: The Studios at Shaw Tower, 1067 West Cordova St., Vancouver

This year's recipients are: Idar Bergseth of Victoria for his jewelry; Stefanie Dueck of Vancouver for metal work and Lisa Fraser of Surrey for industrial design. Hornby Island potter Wayne Ngan will be presented with the BC Creative Achievement Award of Distinction for his significant and sustained contribution in his field.
