Flat World Knowledge and Lyryx Learning Team Up to Offer Free and Open Textbooks With Integrated Assessment

Partnership Delivers Potential to Increase Learning and Decrease Costs for Students

NYACK, NY--(Marketwire - April 30, 2009) - Flat World Knowledge, a publisher of expert-authored, free and open college textbooks, today announced a partnership with Lyryx Learning, a leading developer of online learning and assessment tools. Collectively, the companies will deliver an integrated textbook and assessment solution to the growing community of faculty and students turning to open textbooks to control costs and improve learning.

FLYX -- Economics will be the first solution delivered from the partnership, and will be available in summer 2009 with the open textbook, "Principles of Microeconomics" by Libby Rittenberg and Timothy Tregarthen.
