The Flex-funds® Quantex Fund™ Named Best Mid-Cap Value Fund for Second Consecutive Year

DUBLIN, OH--(Marketwire - Mar 13, 2012) - Meeder Financial is proud to announce that The Quantex Fund™ (FLCGX) has received a prestigious Lipper Fund Award. The Lipper Fund Awards program recognizes mutual funds and fund management firms "that have excelled in delivering consistently strong risk-adjusted performance, relative to peers."

The Quantex Fund™ was named best Mid-Cap Value Fund, out of 191 funds, for the three year period ending December 31, 2011. This is the second consecutive year that the Fund has earned this distinction.

The stocks owned by the Fund fit into two categories: Fallen Angels and Rising Stars. "Fallen Angels" are typically stocks of companies in the mid-cap range whose prices have declined in recent years but are poised for a possible rebound. In other words, they are stocks that are out-of-favor and trading at a discount. "Rising Stars" are smaller capitalization companies with the potential to perform well on both an absolute and relative basis. Generally, Rising Stars are stocks that have risen into our specified market cap range and whose prices have increased from the previous year. Historically, the market capitalization range for the Fund is between $3 and $5 billion.

"This award is a tremendous acknowledgement of our investment approach which focuses on risk management and long-term value, and the commitment of our entire team of portfolio managers to deliver the highest quality solutions for clients and advisors," said Dale Smith, Chief Investment Officer of Meeder Asset Management, investment advisor to The Flex-funds®.
