SCHAUMBURG, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 25, 2011) - Flexera Software, the leading provider of strategic Application Usage Management solutions for application producers and their customers, today announced enhancements to AdminStudio Suite, which powers an enterprise's Application Readiness process for migrations to Windows 7, application virtualization and day-to-day application packaging operations. The new release delivers expanded virtualization suitability testing and centralized dashboard reporting, empowering organizations to choose the optimal virtualization technology for their business needs based on actual compatibility with their applications.
Rapidly gaining traction within enterprises today, virtualization is one of the hottest IT trends and promises tremendous value, flexibility and savings in delivering applications to end users. But without automated tools for compatibility testing, packaging and preparing virtual applications, IT can be unprepared for the task and at considerable risk of project failure. This latest release of AdminStudio Suite provides automated application testing for compatibility with multiple virtualization technologies including Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp and VMware ThinApp, as well as enhanced testing for Remote Desktop Services. "We provide a single solution to test applications for compatibility with the multiple application virtualization technologies that may form part of a virtual client, or virtual desktop Infrastructure strategy," said Polte.
The new release also incorporates compatibility testing results for Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp and VMware ThinApp into AdminStudio Suite's centralized reporting dashboard, as well as compatibility test results from AdminStudio Suite's Compatibility Solver tool, which performs Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Internet Explorer 8 compatibility testing. "With a centralized reporting dashboard to view the compatibility of all an enterprise's applications with different virtualization technologies, IT can substantially expedite the process of selecting the appropriate virtualization technology," added Polte.
Today's launch also includes support for Microsoft App-V 4.6 Service Pack 1. This enhancement ensures support for the latest Microsoft virtualization technologies, allowing packagers to create, test, edit and store Microsoft App-V 4.6 SP1 packages.
