FlightNetwork.com Customers Book Gleeful Getaways

Price Drop Protection Plan Removes Top 'Turbulence' From Vacation Package Bookings

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 21, 2011) - The winter season is the most popular time of year for Canadians to vacation; it can also be the most expensive time to travel. Some will bite the bullet and book far in advance – regardless of costs – to ensure they get their preferred destination and accommodations. Others will roll the dice, waiting until the last possible moment in hopes of securing the lowest price possible.

FlightNetwork.com has empowered customers to get the vacation they want at the price they want. The company, which introduced its innovative 24/7/365 Price Drop Protection Plan on flights this summer, has now extended the popular program to encompass vacation packages. If you book a vacation package with FlightNetwork.com, Price Drop Protection allows you to track price drops after you buy and, when a price drop occurs, lock in the savings and receive a credit for the difference.

"Canadian Consumers shouldn't have to wait until the last minute to get a reasonably-priced vacation," said Naman Budhdeo, CEO of FlightNetwork.com. "Our Price Drop Protection Plan on flights, and now available on vacations, is a permanent consumer savings program, not a promotion or limited time offer. Customers can book with confidence knowing they will pay the lowest price possible or be credited the difference."

A recent FlightNetwork.com poll found that price drops are a major concern for Canadian consumers when booking a vacation package. A whopping majority of respondents – 79.5% – admitted to going back to check on the price of their trip after booking, and 53.9% report seeing a price drop after booking.

Of the respondents, a majority of 34.4% believe that you get the best prices by booking at the last minute, followed by 'booking 3-6 months in advance' at 21.8%. Only 12.3% responded that booking more than six months in advance would yield the best price.

The poll also revealed that Canadian consumers would rather be rewarded with price drop protection than any other incentive for booking a vacation. Price Drop Protection came out on top with 67.2% followed by gas cards at 16.1 %, free car rental at 8.2% and travel points with a surprisingly low 8.5%.
