Flinders University Partners With Documentary Week

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Oct 16, 2012) -  Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia today announced a new 3 year partnership with Documentary Week (DocWeek), a new event taking place in Adelaide's CBD in February 2013. The announcement was made at a DocWeek Media briefing at its Adelaide Studio offices. Flinders University will be acknowledged as an Educational Partner of the DocWeek event and The F4 screening and career development program.

DocWeek is presented by AIDC, organiser of the annual The Australian International Documentary Conference, and co-presented by the Adelaide Festival. DocWeek in its inaugural year in 2013 will take place at several locations around Adelaide's CBD from Monday, 25 February till Sunday, 3 March.

In addition to the acknowledgement as Educational Partner, Flinders University will also be represented as DocWeek's Exclusive Program Partner of the F4 screening and career program. The F4 Program invites Australia's emerging documentary filmmakers to submit their films to be judged by a panel of high profile international documentary professionals. Four finalists are chosen to participate in a mentoring program facilitated by Internationally recognized masters in the documentary field held during the Australian International Documentary Conference. The four selected films will also be screened to the public during DocWeek, and the filmmakers will participate in a Q&A with the audience. The winner will then be presented with the F4 Award for Outstanding New Documentary Talent. Submissions are currently open and close November 30, for further information visit

DocWeek will feature screenings of current and retrospective work by internationally acclaimed master filmmakers and include over 30 handpicked classic documentaries, a competition strand for new talent, The F4 Award, master classes facilitated by visiting international guests and artist conversations.
