FLIR Systems Awarded Contract Valued at up to $50 Million for Maintenance and Repair of U.S. Army Force Protection Systems


PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - Sep 6, 2011) - FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) today announced that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Army valued at up to $50.0 million for repair and maintenance services for the Army's force protection surveillance systems that are fielded across the globe. Under the terms of the five year contract, the Army has placed an initial order for $10.2 million of repair and maintenance services for one year, and has the option to procure an additional $39.8 million of similar services over the following four years.

It is expected that the work under this contract will be performed out of FLIR's Foreign Sales operations in the Middle East, as well as its facilities in Wilsonville, OR, and Billerica, MA.
