TARPON SPRINGS, FL--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2013) - The Florida Hospital North Pinellas' Women of Wellness (www.fhnorthpinellas.com) is hosting Girl Talk: Everything You Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask on Oct. 30.
"Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been a tremendously successful campaign, so we're taking advantage of this month heightened awareness and expanding the focus to include any health concern a woman may have," says Rosemary Giuliano, ARNP, the director of oncology and cancer screening initiatives at the hospital. She is the event's moderator.
Girl Talk, a free event, will be held at Innisbrook Golf Resort and Spa, Inverness Hall, 36750 US Hwy 19 N., Palm Harbor. Hospital staff physicians will also be on hand, including Effie Pappas Politis, MD, ABPS, plastic and reconstructive surgery; Cynthia P. Roever, MD, internal medicine and geriatrics; Lourdes T. Santiago, MD, colorectal, general surgery; Parveen Vahora, MD, FACOG, gynecological surgery; and David F. Marler, MD, FACOG, obstetrics/gynecology.
"Of course, men are certainly welcome to attend," says Giuliano, who adds reservations are required because space is limited. Attendees should call 727-943-3600 to reserve seating.
The event kicks off at 5 p.m. and includes many opportunities for arrivals to win prizes and other goods and services from sponsors so women can "feel pretty and get pampered," Giuliano says. Free health screenings will also be provided before a sit-down dinner at 6:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m. doctors will take questions from attendees.
"This really is the time to ask those questions you may have been putting off," says Giuliano. "It may be the best thing you've done for yourself in a long time."
