Florida Property & Casualty Association Chairman Comments on the Passage of Florida Senate Bill 2282 Banning "Crash Tax"

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL and TALLAHASSEE, FL--(Marketwire - May 4, 2009) - "As Chairman of the Florida Property and Casualty Association (FPCA), I am pleased by the Florida Legislature's passage of SB 2282, which bans the 'Crash Tax.' These fees cause limited insurance benefits to be paid to city and county governments instead of Florida citizens, to compensate them for their property loss and personal injuries. This new law will preserve all available insurance benefits for Florida consumers."

Chuck Grimsley is chairman of the Florida Property & Casualty Association (FPCA), which represents several of the state's domestic auto and homeowners insurers. Mr. Grimsley is also General Counsel to United Automobile Insurance Company.
