Flowers Direct Look Forward to Fathers Day

Flowers Direct, a leading UK online florist prepare for a busy Fathers Day period after revealing 30% of men would like to receive flowers as a Father's day present.

MORECAMBE, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - June 9, 2009) - The Flowers Direct team took to the streets of Britain to ask 500 men two very direct questions to find out what men want or would like to receive as a gift on father's day.

Firstly they were asked 'would they be happy to receive flowers on father's day?' a resounding 30% of dad's returned a positive answer of 'yes, they would like to receive flowers as a father's day gift'.

This same 30% of men were then asked a second question, 'other than flowers, which of the following gifts would you like to receive on Fathers Day?' The list of options consisted of a range of alternative Flowers Direct products along with other stereotypical types of gifts associated with men.

Wine was the alternative choice for 21% of the men surveyed, with a further 18% saying they would prefer spirits if not flowers. Chocoholic dad's amounted to 15%, while 12% of dad's selected after shave as their second option.

On the back of this research, Flowers Direct are looking to add to their Fathers Day gift arrangements, which has traditionally included experience days, BBQ sets and wine, but now includes tall arrangements of roses and bouquet arrangements.
