Fluke 381 Clamp Meter Wins the EC&M 2011 Platinum Product of the Year Award

The New Meter Receives Top Recognition in a Poll of EC&M Readers

EVERETT, WA--(Marketwire - Jul 21, 2011) - The Fluke® 381 Remote Display True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter with iFlex™ has been named the EC&M 2011 Platinum Product of the Year. The Platinum winner is chosen by the readers of EC&M from all the Product of the Year category winners, which were announced in March. The 381 was named a category winner in the portable measurement equipment category.

The EC&M Product of the Year competition was established in 2000 to honor excellence in new product development in the electrical industry. In 2011, EC&M received 73 entries, which were evaluated carefully by a panel of seven judges consisting of a mix of electrical engineers, contractors, inspectors, and plant facility personnel selected from its readership. From the 24 category winners selected, EC&M subscribers vote to determine the 2011 Product of the Year platinum, gold (1st runner-up), and silver (2nd runner-up) winners.

"The EC&M Platinum Product of the Year award is gratifying recognition for the innovative 381 Clamp Meter from electricians who use test tools every day," said Clement Feng, Vice President Global Marketing, Fluke Corporation. "With its unique detachable display and iFlex probe, the 381 delivers more performance and flexibility to help them do their jobs quicker and more easily. It's just one example of Fluke listening to its customers and offering them true solutions to changing and complex problems."

This is the fifth major recognition this year for the Fluke 381. In addition to the EC&M Category and Platinum recognition, the meter won the Gold Award in the Tools category in the ACHR-The NEWS 8th Annual Dealer Design Awards, the 2010 Control Engineering Engineers' Choice Awards in the portable measurement equipment category and 2010 Plant Engineering Product of the Year Silver Award in the Maintenance Tools and Equipment category.

About the Fluke 381 Clamp Meter
The first clamp meter with a wireless display, the Fluke 381 allows one technician to do the work of two, by leaving the clamp in place and taking the measurement readout to another location up to 30 feet away. The accompanying iFlex flexible current probe allows the user to measure large, inflexible, or hard-to-reach conductors up to 2500 amps. And the clamp meter itself allows electricians to take all of the most common measurements required by today's complex systems, quickly, without complication, and with extremely high accuracy. That means fewer tools, less hassle, faster results. The U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Fluke 381 is $499.95.
