Fluke Donates Test Tools to Support the United Association's New Mobile HVACR Training Trailers

EVERETT, WA--(Marketwire - Aug 15, 2011) - Fluke Corporation, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has donated over $4,000 of industry-leading test tools to the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (UA) to help equip two new mobile HVACR mobile training trailers. The trailers will be used to train apprentices and journeymen on the very latest equipment used in the industry today.

The new trailers, which are the UA's first HVACR mobile training centers, are two 53' foot long mobile HVACR Training Labs. These labs will be utilized by students in a working environment to give them a variety of hands-on learning opportunities. These trailers will be going into service in August of this year and will begin to be utilized in various locations throughout the country.

The Fluke donation includes two units each of a complete suite of tools, from airflow, temperature, humidity and carbon monoxide meters designed for HVAC and indoor air quality control to digital multimeters and clamp meters for electrical measurement as well as infrared and contact digital thermometers.

The trailers are the latest in the fleet of over 40 fully equipped mobile training centers UA provides its local unions. The new HVACR trailers, which can train up to ten people at a time, expose students to multiple types of HVACR equipment, such as split systems, heat pumps, package units, ice machines, variable zoning systems, refrigeration equipment, compressors and motors, brazing and soldering, pipe-fitting, and electrical troubleshooting.

The donation is part of Fluke's commitment to provide technical training and education via seminars and webinars, curriculum support, application notes and books, and through partnerships with colleges, trade, technical and vocational schools, and trade associations like UA.
