FNX Announces Promotions in Exploration Group

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 11, 2007) - FNX MINING COMPANY INC. (TSX:FNX) ("FNX" or "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Gord Morrison to Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development and Dr. Catharine Farrow to Vice President, Exploration. Both appointments are effective July 1, 2007.

Gord Morrison, BSc, has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and will report to Terry MacGibbon, the Company's CEO. Gord joined FNX in 2002 on a consulting basis and became a full-time employee and Director of Exploration in February 2003. He was appointed the Company's Vice President, Exploration in 2005. Prior to joining FNX, Gord worked for over 30 years in CVRD-Inco's exploration department with extensive experience in the Sudbury Basin as well as nickel projects worldwide. Under Gord's leadership, FNX's exploration team has been extremely successful, resulting in an impressive list of mineral discoveries over the past five years in the Sudbury Basin. Gord will continue to be responsible for the Company's exploration activities and will take on the new role of seeking out, evaluating and acquiring new business opportunities.

Catharine Farrow, PhD, PGeo, has been appointed Vice President, Exploration and will report to Gord Morrison. Catharine joined FNX in March 2003 as Chief Geologist and in 2006 assumed new duties as Director of Exploration. Catharine has been instrumental in building and directing the Company's exploration team and plays a key role in the success of the Company's exploration department. Catharine is widely published as an expert in platinum group elements and is an Adjunct Professor at both the University of Toronto and Laurentian University.
