ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Nov 20, 2013) - FOCUS Brands Inc., the franchisor and operator of more than 4,300 ice cream shoppes, bakeries, restaurants and cafes under the brand names Carvel®, Cinnabon®, Schlotzsky's®, Moe's Southwest Grill®, Auntie Anne's and McAlister's Deli®, announced today that Barry Moullet has been named Chief Supply Chain Officer.
In this newly created role, Barry will oversee all supply chain, distribution, procurement, and logistics initiatives for the entire FOCUS Brands organization, which is in the process of aligning under a single supply chain umbrella.
"We partnered with Barry and relied on his 30 years of supply chain experience to help define our new supply chain infrastructure," said FOCUS Brands CEO Russ Umphenour. "He was intrigued and engaged with our brands, so it was a natural transition to bring him on board to build this new function from the ground up."
FOCUS Brands is modeling the industry standard by blending the supply chain function into a centralized office, based in Atlanta where FOCUS and four of the brands are headquartered. Each brand will still have their needs serviced, but centralizing the supply chain function will allow them to leverage the overall volume in an effort to obtain improved pricing and increase service levels.
Prior to starting his private consultation practice, Barry served as the Chief Supply Chain Officer with Darden Restaurants and has held several other key leadership roles within the restaurant industry working with and for foodservice companies like Burger King, KFC Corporation and The Pillsbury Company.
