Focus Enhancements Completes Tape-Out for Next Generation TV-out Chip

49% Smaller With Aggressive Power Management, the New Chip Targets On-the-Go Digital Media: Portable Media Players, Smartphones and Portable Navigation Systems

CAMPBELL, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 5, 2007 -- Focus Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in video production, PC-to-TV conversion and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, today announced it has completed a tape-out of its newest version of a TV-out chip with a feature set highly optimized for products like portable media players (PMPs), Smartphones and portable navigation systems. This product segment represents a high growth opportunity in consumer electronics and cellular communications, as evidenced by the high level of interest shown at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Designed specifically for battery operated, handheld multimedia devices, this encoder provides advanced power management techniques, uses a small 5mm x 5mm ball grid array package, and delivers uncompromising TV-out video quality in all standard TV formats.

"Our mission is to provide problem-solving semiconductors to digital media markets. This chip addresses the critical concerns of portable digital media product designers who want to transfer video from portable devices onto a TV," said Tom Hamilton, executive vice president and general manager of Focus Enhancements' semiconductor group. "The smaller size and efficient power usage of this TV-out encoder, which assure long battery life for portable devices, exemplify our commitment to bringing the right product features to our customers in a cost-effective fashion."

Engineering samples are expected to be available mid-year 2007. For detailed preliminary information about this chip please visit
