Focus Enhancements Introduces HX Switcher Series to the European Market at IBC 2007

Ultra Compact and Superior Quality HD Video Switchers Make Their European Debut and Feature 1080i/50 and 720p/50 Support

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - September 7, 2007) - IBC Booth 9.441 - Focus Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, announced that the HX-1 and HX-2 HD video switchers will be introduced to the European market at IBC 2007 (booth 9.441) at the Amsterdam RAI from September 7-11. The HX-1 and HX-2 HD switchers will now support 1080i/50 and 720p/50 formats, making both models ideal for news/sports broadcasters, production studio owners, educators, and video directors for places of worship who are transitioning to high definition production.

"The HX series has received an enthusiastic response and positive feedback in North America," said Matt McEwen, senior product manager for Focus Enhancements. "The HX line of HD switchers now provides our European customers with a new level of versatility for their HD and SD productions -- making the switchers essential additions to our growing lineup of HD production tools."

The four HD-SDI input HX-1 Portable HD Video Switcher includes active loop-through on all inputs, as well as dual HD-SDI outputs for program, preview, and effects monitoring. It supports eight wipe patterns and adjustable effects, including soft edges, border size and border color. Housed in a rugged, ultra-portable chassis, the HX-1 is ideally suited for broadcast vans and other space-constrained environments.

The HX-2 HD/SD Video Switcher features eight HD-SDI or SD-SDI inputs, in addition to external key and fill inputs, for downstream key sources such as character generators, or logo inserters. Easy to set up and operate, the high performance switcher supports full 10-bit internal processing to meet the highest broadcast standards. The HX-2 also offers switchable HD/SD operation, six separate outputs, external DSK input, chroma key functionality, auto or manual mix/wipe operation (with eight different wipe patterns) and a 2D DVE.

The HX-1 and HX-2 with 720p50 and 1080i50 support are expected to be available in November 2007 for 9.900 Euros and 18.000 Euros, respectively. For more information, please visit us at For US pricing, please contact us at or 800.338.3348.
