"ProxSys extends Digital Asset Management from an archive-only paradigm to a key component for real-time production and broadcast use. At NAB, we are demonstrating real-world examples of how ProxSys excels in medium- and large-scale deployments for media-driven applications, including production workgroup content storage, broadcast archive and play-out, sports analysis, education and training, multi-channel recording and monitoring, and video archiving."

The ProxSys system is based on several key components. The main ProxSys Data Storage and Administration module is the core of the system and contains a media database, Web server, video archive, metadata storage and the MPEG-4 proxy engine. The ProxSys MPEG/DV encoding component allows video and other content to ingest into the system. The Play-out section controls distribution of the content for presentation or 24/7 broadcast.
