Focusing on the 3 E's: Education, Environment, Envirothon!

Local Students Vie for Provincial Top Spot

ST. GEORGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 6, 2011) - From May 4-7, 2011 high school students representing regions from across Ontario will be showcasing their environmental smarts at the 2011 provincial Envirothon competition. The winning team will proudly advance to the Canon Envirothon Championships taking place in Sackville, New Brunswick from July 24 to 29, 2011.

The annual provincial competition reaches over 10,000 Ontario students each year, and is part of a broader environment education program encouraging students to get outdoors and experience nature first hand. In addition to raising awareness about the needs of Ontario's forests, Envirothon encourages critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills among participants.
