MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 27, 2016) - FogHorn Systems, a leading developer of "edge intelligence" software for industrial and commercial IoT applications, announced today the addition of two new executives to build out its management team under the leadership of FogHorn CEO David C. King and CTO Sastry Malladi. Joining the company are VP of Product Management Steven Sit and VP of Business Development David Canavan.

The newly expanded management team is focused on driving technology innovation, product enhancements and go-to-market expansion in the rapidly emerging domain of "intelligence at the edge" or "fog computing." To date, the company has created an extensive industry partner ecosystem of global leaders in Industrial IoT solutions (GE, Bosch, Yokogawa), cloud computing (Cloud Foundry, Microsoft, SAP), edge gateways (Dell, HPE, Cisco) and IoT systems integration (Cognizant, Infosys, TCS). Several of those key strategic partners participated in FogHorn's recently completed round of Series A venture funding.
The Team
CEO David King joined FogHorn Systems in 2015. Prior to joining FogHorn, David co-founded AirTight Networks, Inc., a technology leader in wireless security and cloud-managed Wi-Fi, where he served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2004-2015, leading the company through four successful rounds of venture capital funding. Before AirTight, he served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Proxim Inc., a pioneer in WLANs and the first publicly traded Wi-Fi company, from 1993-2002. David led Proxim through a successful IPO in 1993 and 20x revenue growth as a public company during his tenure as CEO.
CTO Sastry Malladi came to FogHorn with extensive experience in developing and designing highly scalable and distributed systems in the areas of big data, SOA, microservices architecture, and cloud computing. As CTO, Malladi is responsible for overseeing all technology and product strategy, and development. Before joining FogHorn, Sastry was chief architect of StubHub, an eBay company, where he led the technology architecture transformation and also spearheaded Big Data initiatives and data-driven decisions. He was also a key technology executive at eBay, leading the technology re-platforming effort from its monolithic architecture to the distributed and scalable service-oriented architecture that it is today.
VP of Product Management Steven Sit oversees FogHorn's product strategy and planning, including product-related customer support and services. He brings over 20 years of enterprise software experience to FogHorn, spanning diverse roles in strategy, product management, engineering, and technical sales. Prior to joining FogHorn, Sit served as director of product management and was a founding member in 2010 of IBM's big data organization where he oversaw product planning and strategy. He led the field engineering team worldwide for product delivery that successfully helped IBM customers and partners realize value from big data and Analytics applications using open source technologies. Sit helped drive significant portfolio revenue growth in big data owing to the organization's rapid customer uptake.
VP of Business Development David Canavan is responsible for the development of strategic alliances, channel sales and market development. He has a proven track record in business development, corporate development and channel sales initiatives for leading technology organizations in the security and IoT technology markets. Before joining FogHorn, Canavan served as senior vice president of IoT channel sales, business development and ecosystem partners at PTC (ThingWorx) as well as executive vice president of business development and OEM sales at Axeda Corporation responsible for driving the company's corporate development, strategic alliances and channel sales. Axeda later became a PTC acquisition in the IoT space.
Director of Product Marketing Yuta Endo heads product marketing and strategic alliances and is one of the original members of the FogHorn team. Prior to joining FogHorn, Endo worked at Cisco Systems where he bootstrapped the new IoT Division by leading product management and strategic industrial partner relationships to drive the company's industrial IoT vision, strategy and execution from 2011-2014. Before he co-founded the IoT Division, Endo served as senior manager of product management responsible for Cisco's core enterprise portfolio.
