Foodies Flock to Mayfair Restaurant's Great Indian Food Feast

The London Marriott Hotel Park Lane Teams Up With the Urban Rajah for an Epicurean Adventure

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2014) - In a country where chicken tikka is considered a national food, it stands to reason that a Great Indian Food Feast would be well-received. This four-course dinner on November 20th combines flavour with flair for an event that promises to attract the attention of serious foodies as well as those who just love a good curry.

Designed to transport guests from their seats at a Park Lane luxury hotel to the exotic smells and flavours of India, each course celebrates the culinary traditions of the subcontinent while catering to sophisticated palates. After a lassi amuse-bouche, for example, guests will tuck into a tiffin starter of paneer pakora and shami kebabs. The main dish nods to the era of the British Raj with dak bungalow chicken curry, while the sweet pistachio kulfi with spicy pineapple balances the rest of the meal's fiery flavours. Throughout it all, guests can sip on India's No. 1 beer, Kingfisher Beer, or the Elaichi Mango cocktail, which mixes gin with lime and mango-and-cardamom puree.

The Great Indian Food Feast may only last one night, but it's not the only opportunity to taste the Urban Rajah's culinary prowess at one of the finest luxury hotels in London. Lanes of London facilitates an exciting guest-chef programme known as Food Hero, which invites an avant-garde culinary professional to contribute a dish to the menu for a limited time. Between now and the rest of the year, the Urban Rajah serves as the restaurant's Food Hero, and his £12 Tiffin Board gives diners a taste of what will be featured at his supper-club event. The Tiffin Board includes a selection of favourite Indian dishes: shami kebab (minced lamb), aloo tikki (potato-and-cumin cutlets), paneer pakoras and masala fried whitebait.
