For Third Consecutive Year, Meridian Named to List of Top Training & Simulation Companies

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - November 18, 2010) -   KMI Media Group and Military Training Technology magazine have for the third consecutive year named Meridian Knowledge Solutions, LLC a "Top Training and Simulation Company" because of the software firm's impact on military training during 2010. Meridian's learning management system (LMS) -- which analyzes and delivers training via the internet -- has underpinned its contributions to the military.

The Meridian LMS is used for knowledge-exchange and learning across all branches of the U.S. military, U.S. Department of Defense and several National Guard units. In 2010, Meridian expanded its contract with the air component of the U.S. Marine Corps. The software maker provides training via its LMS to Marines who maintain and fly a variety of fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. Along with Meridian's work for the U.S. Marine Corps, the software company's service to the U.S. Army also earned recognition from Military Training Technology magazine and KMI Media Group. Through the third quarter of 2010, the U.S. Army has trained thousands of employees to use a professional development program powered by Meridian's LMS.

Meridian's flagship software product, the Meridian Global LMS, links learning and knowledge management with Web 2.0 functions -- such as online collaboration spaces -- to train warfighters billeted around the globe.

"Our success with the military stems from the fact that soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen can configure our LMS to mirror the way they carry out their mission. Complementing the architecture of our LMS is our service and commitment, which often exceeds the expectations of military and civilian DoD employees," remarked Roy Haythorn, executive vice president of operations for Meridian.

A panel of judges selected this year's Top Training and Simulation Companies based on criteria such as total military sales, product innovation and the success of each nominee's training programs. Along with Meridian, the 2010 list features more than 100 companies including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman Technical Services, Raytheon Company and Thales.
