For the Third Year 24 Women, Professional Artists, Gather at Galerie Pierre Seguin for "Hommage a Michele Leveille" for the Benefit of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation

L'ILE-PERROT, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 7, 2005) - From September 18th to October 8th, Galerie Pierre Seguin will hold an important group exhibition of 24 professional women artists featuring some 125 works to raise funds for the benefit of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.

Presenting works of the painter Michele Leveille, deceased of cancer in 2003, Galerie Pierre Seguin will also offer the public the opportunity to admire paintings and sculptures created by women artists from different regions in Quebec and to participate to the fundraising for the QBCF.

The gallery invites the public to the launching of the exhibition on September 18th, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., also an occasion for them to meet with the artists. As Mr. Pierre Seguin owner of the gallery says, "the artists really want to contribute to a very important cause that unites them: the fight against breast cancer". A dinner concert will be held as a pre-launch to the exhibition on Saturday, September 17th, the ticket cost is 150 $ per person and all the profits of this activity will be handed over to the QBCF. Last year the exhibition "Hommage a Michele Leveille" allowed to raise $5 000 for the QBCF, coming from a percentage of the sales of the artworks and the profits from the dinner concerts.

Art lovers are invited to visit the exhibition, from September 18th to October 8th, during the gallery opening hours : Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Part of all the sales of works presented during this "Hommage a Michele Leveille" will be donated to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.

Artist: Michele Leveille (1951-2003)
Title: Serenite
Size of the original work: 20" x 28"

This artwork by Michele Leveille was created during the artist
remission period, while she thought she had won her battle against
cancer. It illustrates the 2005 exhibition for the benefit of the
Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation taking place at Galerie Pierre Seguin
from September 18th to October 8th. Galerie Pierre Seguin gave it a
very evocative title, since the artists left it untitled: Serenite,
as a message of hope to all women fighting against cancer, and in
honour of the patient care program of the Quebec Breast Cancer
Foundation.
