Ford Motor Company Packs Major Wins for 2010, According to Midway Ford Miami

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - January 7, 2011) - For most, 2010 was a difficult year. Although many analysts say that the recession has hit its lowest point and the economy is now making its way towards recovery, for those hardest hit, it wasn't easy to see. Ford Motor Company, however, has been a gallant knight in the fight towards economic recovery. This year, Ford has some major wins under its belt.

In 2010, Ford continued to gain ground in U.S. Car and Light-Truck sales, posting a 17% increase in sales from 2009, according to Automotive News. One man who knows very intimately about the ups and downs of the automotive industry is Miamian, Charles Dascal.

In 1962, Dascal arrived in Miami as a Cuban immigrant with next to nothing in his name. Today, Dascal owns and, with the help of his family, operates Vista Motors of North Broward and South Motors of Dade. The flagship of the South Motors dealerships is Miami's Midway Ford.

"I could not be more proud of the job that Midway Ford has done sustaining through tough economic times," said Dascal, "And we're not going anywhere."

Dascal credits Ford's success to its strong line-up of reliable transportation, but also recognizes the credit also belongs to the people that Ford employs.

"We [Ford] are always innovating, looking for new ways to improve the product and communication," said Dascal. "And no product is worth anything without good communication and that is something that Ford has aced, take for example TheFordStory.com."

TheFordStory.com is a highly social and interactive site with a blog-like feel. It allows Ford owners and enthusiasts alike to tell "their Ford Story."

"The community, that family feeling that Ford encourages within the company as well as outwardly with venues like TheFordStory, that is what keeps Ford strong," said Dascal. "And that is exactly the type of atmosphere we encourage here at Midway Ford."

While competitors may be wading cautiously back into the waters of sales and openness, Ford dove in head first, and 2010's sales results are a testament to the success of this practice.

Midway Ford is part of the South Motors Automotive Group. Started in 1956, South Motors has been a staple in the Miami market. As a family-owned business, the South Motors Automotive Group was founded on one simple principle: treat every customer like family.
