The Foreign Trade Association of Southern California Hosts 80th Annual World Trade Week Luncheon and Trade Fair on May 25 at the Biltmore Hotel

Keynote on International Commerce Security and Exclusive U.S. Debut of Excerpts of the Film "A Container Story," to Be Shown in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Containerization

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2006 -- The 80th World Trade Week (WTW) of Southern California Luncheon and Trade Fair has become one of the major highlights of the May month long celebration of international trade in Southern California. The Foreign Trade Association, along with its partners, Women in International Trade and Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association, has planned a unique program in commemoration of this year's event.

Keynoting the May 25th event at the Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Street, in Downtown Los Angeles will be John C. Stammreich, Vice President, Advanced Homeland Security of the Boeing Company, who will be speaking on "Homeland Initiatives -- Implications for International Security," an interplay between International Commerce and Security.

In his role as vice president of Boeing Advanced Homeland Security, John Stammreich is responsible for coordinating the Homeland Security strategies and activities of all the Boeing Business Units offering Homeland Security Products and Services. He is chairman of the enterprise Homeland Security Council and leads the Advanced Homeland Security Organization within Phantom Works.

As a special highlight, the Foreign Trade Association of Southern California has arranged an exclusive debut of excerpts of the film "A Container Story," a film by Thomas Greh, to be shown for the first time in the U.S., in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Containerization.

Starting at 11 AM, the International Trade Fair will precede the Noon luncheon with networking opportunities from both the public and private sectors. The WTW Luncheon will also feature the presentation of the 71st Stanley T. Olafson Bronze Plaque Award being presented by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce during the program packed event.
