Form I-9 Compliance, LLC Announces a Consulting and Auditing Service to Help Employers Verify That Their Existing Employee I-9 Forms Are Compliant With DHS Requirements

Auditing Existing I-9 Forms Is of Interest to Organizations Subject to the Far Rule Requiring Usage of E-Verify for Current Employees and to Organizations During the Due Diligence Phase of Mergers, Acquisitions or Outsourcing Transactions

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - October 19, 2009) - Form I-9 Compliance, LLC, an approved Designated Agent of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) for web-based employment verification through the E-Verify system, announces a Consulting Service to Audit I-9 Forms using trained auditors and computerized processes. The Audit of an organization's I-9 Forms and supporting documents is the first step in a multi-step process that will assist organizations in complying with the employment verification provisions of the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986, as amended.

The Audit process consists of a Senior Auditor reviewing each I-9 Form, highlighting errors, omissions and/or document discrepancies.

   ERROR:
THE RECORDING OF INCORRECT INFORMATION BY THE EMPLOYEE.

   OMISSION:
THE EMPLOYER OR AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE FAILS TO
RECORD REQUIRED INFORMATION ON THE EMPLOYEE'S I-9 FORM.

   DISCREPANCY:
THE INFORMATION IN ONE PART OF THE EMPLOYEE'S I-9 FORM
DIFFERS FROM THE INFORMATION RECORDED ELSEWHERE
         ON THE DOCUMENT.

In the Form I-9 Compliance Audit process, all identified document flaws are electronically recorded and stored. An Audit Form is prepared for each Audited document listing all findings as well as the recommended corrective action to be taken by the appropriate party. For an error free I-9 Form, the Audit Form states "no corrective action required." A Senior Auditor performs a final review of the individually highlighted I-9 Forms and directly corresponding Audit Forms to help ensure accuracy and completeness of the Auditing process. The "Audit Forms" clearly identify errors, omissions and/or discrepancies on each Audited document, providing easy to understand instructions enabling the employer to properly correct flawed documents.

"With the increased emphasis on strengthened employment eligibility verification and the focus of enforcement on employers as recently announced by Secretary Napolitano of DHS, employers are needing to take steps to ensure that that their existing I-9 Forms are not flawed," said Mr. Tom Brechtel Sr. Vice President Business Development for Form I-9 Compliance, LLC. "Our Consulting and Auditing service is a very cost effective way to substantially eliminate the risk of flawed I-9 Forms," said Mr. Brechtel.
