Formation of International Food and Beverage Technology Association Announced

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - May 20, 2014) -  The formation of a new international trade association, the International Food and Beverage Technology Association (IFBTA), was announced yesterday at the Celebration of Technology held during the National Restaurant Show in Chicago by Foodservice Industry technology evangelist and entrepreneur and FSTEC co-founder Robert Grimes.

Rob, who will serve as the IFBTA's first CEO and President, discussed, "There is a need, both nationally and internationally, for a community of food and beverage operators, suppliers, and consumers to share information relevant to the industry." He further commented that "The formation of IFBTA will serve to advance technology and innovation in the global food and beverage industries covering all technology innovation from the core technologies used by operations to run the front-of-house and back-of-the-house, the enterprise as well as equipment technologies, supply chain and food development."

The IFBTA will serve a vast array of industry segments of the Food and Beverage industry including, but not limited to: Restaurants, Lodging, Travel, C-Stores, Gaming/Casinos, Theme Parks, On-Site, Retail, and Healthcare. The association will offer products and services for members of the IFBTA in both the operator and supplier communities in support of the industry in the areas of education, professional certification, networking, research, standards development, advocacy, and innovation. The IFBTA will support the global and regional industry trade associations' in their efforts to set policy that impacts the use of data and requires a technology platform with the industry segments its serves. 

The first annual meeting of the IFBTA will take place during the Food Sales Technology Conference & Showcase (FSTEC) to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from September 21-23, 2014.
