SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 23, 2006) - Titan Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TUE)(TSX VENTURE:TUE.WT)(TSX VENTURE:TUE.WT.A) is pleased to announce the addition of a new director, Mr. Josef Spross, to its senior management team. As the former Chief Operating Officer of Cameco Corporation (TSX:CCO), Mr. Spross has extensive experience in uranium mining and exploration and has played a significant role in the development and operation of Cameco uranium properties.

"Josef brings extremely valuable experience, knowledge, and insight in addition to his network of contacts and will be integral to Titan's growth and success," said Phil Olson, Titan's President & CEO. "We are very excited in having Mr. Spross join our board and strengthening Titan's position as a leading junior uranium explorer in Canada. I view Mr. Spross's acceptance of a directorship as a validation of Titan's potential."

During his tenure with Cameco, Mr. Spross managed the Key Lake operation for 15 years and became Vice President of uranium mining in 1993. In 1995, he was appointed Vice President of mining and a year later he assumed the position of Executive Vice President of Kumtor Operating Company in the Kyrgyz Republic. Upon his return to Canada in April 1997, Mr. Spross was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cameco Corporation. At the end of 1999, he retired from Cameco and assumed the position of President and Past President of the Saskatchewan Mining Association in 2000 (a four-year term). He is presently a director of Centerra (TSX:CG).

Titan is currently drilling its Thelon Basin properties and is wrapping up this summer's program on its Athabasca properties. Titan remains committed to developing its management team by adding additional experienced geologists and has engaged a global executive search firm to assist in this endeavour
