Former CNN Journalists Unveil NewsCertified.com

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) - Journalists worldwide now have a quick and easy way to find credible sources with thousands of areas of expertise.

NewsCertified Exchange officially introduces NewsCertified.com, a searchable, on-line database of experts who are certified to be ready for any type of interview.

BusinessWeek.com recently recognized NewsCertified as one of "America's Most Promising Start-ups."

The NewsCertified database, free to journalists, includes hundreds of expert profiles ranging from former U.N. ambassadors to a world-renowned vaccine specialist to top business and industry leaders.

"NewsCertified.com is a digital platform that directly connects news-ready experts with journalists 24/7," said Kathryn McManus, a founder and President of NewsCertified Exchange and a former head of CNN Japan.

Along with former CNN correspondents Rusty Dornin, Judy Fortin and Mike Chinoy, the NewsCertified team includes CNN International weekend anchor Natalie Allen.

"Before any expert is profiled on our website, they go through an extensive media training course and vetting process with our veteran broadcast journalists," explained Dornin, who spent 18 years at CNN.

With the advice of other journalists, NewsCertified Exchange has established nearly two dozen standards of interview certification in print, radio and television. Certification is not guaranteed.

An expert's profile, which is posted on NewsCertified.com, not only includes biographical and contact information but also a videotaped interview and story pitch.

McManus explained, "NewsCertified.com gives a journalist everything they need to know about an expert immediately and right at their desktop."
