When Peter Lougheed was in power and for many years thereafter, Norval Horner was an active member of the PC Party but he moved his allegiance to the Alberta Liberal Party. "I decided to run because I felt that the conservative government was entering into costly programs and making mistakes such as power deregulation, the royalty review fiasco and allowing sales of water based on simplistic ideology, lack of understanding and expediency. My understanding of the energy industry and the environment will be helpful in the legislature to ensure we enact sensible policy," says Norval Horner, Liberal candidate for Calgary Currie.

Righting what has gone wrong is the primary motive behind Norval's intention to lend his decades of senior executive experience from oil and gas industry to this position and uphold Liberal policies that will ensure the province controls and becomes more transparent on spending, provides fairer taxation with better planning for both urban and rural municipalities and makes environmental protection a priority backed with solid legislation.
