Former SF 49er Harris Barton and Economist Jon Fisher Headline NIRI Silicon Valley Annual Spring Seminar

Broad Range of Silicon Valley IROs, Executives and Investment Professionals Talk "Power Strategies"

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2010) -  The Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) will host its award-winning Annual Spring Seminar on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Hotel Valencia, 355 Santana Row, San Jose, California. Keynote speaker Harris Barton, a founder of HRJ Capital and a former All-American and All-Pro for the three-time Super Bowl Champion San Francisco 49ers, will present winning strategies that can be applied to any field, whether it's football or the capital markets.

The opening highlight of the event will be an in-depth discussion about the global economy by Jon B. Fisher, serial entrepreneur, economics commentator and business professor. Fisher has been perpetually accurate in his unemployment projections, despite the proclamation by government officials that "no one has gotten this right." According to Fisher, "The tech companies representing the Silicon Valley chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute at this event are leading the recovery. If they can get it right, Washington can get the policy response right."

Fisher's presentation will be followed by full-slate of investor relations professionals and Silicon Valley executives, including a panel of Silicon Valley C-level executives. More than a dozen technology companies are represented as speakers and panelists throughout the day. Additionally, members of the investment community will share their perspectives on equity trading to include dark pools and best ways for companies to communicate their value to The Street. Three separate workshops are geared toward personal development for investor relations professionals at various stages of their careers.

The NIRI Silicon Valley Chapter's Annual Spring Seminar is one of the largest and longest running educational and networking events for investor relations professionals in Northern California, garnering the "Best Special Event" honor for 2009 from the National Investor Relations Institute, and the Chairman's Award in the two prior years. This year's seminar is timely in that it focuses on the strategies required to "power forward" as public companies begin to recover from a challenging economic environment.

The 2010 Spring Seminar is sponsored by a number of financial and investor relations services providers, including Bowne, Broadridge, Brunswick, BusinessWire, Computershare Georgeson, CSG, Ipreo, Laurel Hill Group, Marketwire, Meet the Street, Merrill Corporation, NASDAQ OMX, NYSE Euronext, Shareholder.com, and Thomson Reuters. Exhibits will be open throughout networking events during the day to showcase sponsors' products and services

"We're very excited about this year's seminar and its outstanding array of speakers from industry-leading companies," said Tom Rathjen, Vice President of Investor Relations at Accuray, Inc. and President of the NIRI Silicon Valley Chapter. "The team has put together an impressive agenda and slate of speakers to deliver strategies for a broad array of circumstances faced by our members every day in their IR roles. We look forward to greeting IR professionals from the Bay Area and beyond, and to enjoy yet another successful Seminar."
