Former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs and Former U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Marc Grossman, Will Be Keynote Speaker at Orange County World Affairs Council Dinner

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - September 9, 2009) - The event, hosted by the non-profit organization, the World Affairs Council of Orange County, is scheduled for Friday, September 18 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Blvd., Irvine, Ca. 92614. Ambassador Marc Grossman will speak on "An American Diplomacy for the 21st Century." Sir Eldon Griffiths will introduce our speaker. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner presentation at 7 p.m. and a Q&A after the speech. The public is invited to attend.

Prior to his retirement in 2005 after 29 years in the Foreign Service, Ambassador Grossman served as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, the third-ranking position in the Department. A Career Ambassador, his distinguished career included senior assignments as the Director General of the Foreign Service, Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, and U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, as well as Special Assistant to the Secretary of State. In January 2009, he became Chairman of the World Affairs Councils of America.
