Former U.S. Congressman Ben Chandler Joins Kentucky Government Relations Firm

Joins Principals of Strategic Advisers to Create Omni Advocacy Group

FORT MITCHELL, KY--(Marketwired - September 26, 2013) - Former Congressman Ben Chandler has joined with the three principals of Strategic Advisers, a Northern Kentucky-based public-relations and government-relations firm, to launch a new government relations firm called Omni Advocacy Group.

Chandler was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Kentucky's Sixth Congressional District, from 2004 to 2013. During his tenure in Congress, he served on the House Appropriations Committee, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Transportation, Homeland Security, Science and Technology, Agriculture, and Ethics Committees.

Prior to his election to Congress, Chandler served as Kentucky's Attorney General from 1996 to 2004, becoming the youngest state attorney general in the nation when he was elected, and as State Auditor from 1992 to 1996.

Omni Advocacy Group provides lobbying, advocacy, and other consulting services to clients engaged with local, state, federal, and international governments. The new firm is led by Chandler and Patrick Crowley, the former Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper reporter who founded Strategic Advisers in September 2009 with former Covington City Manager Jay Fossett. Greg Greene, a former banker with 5/3 Bank, joined the firm as a partner in August 2011.

"After leaving Congress, I received employment offers from a number of different firms -- both large and small, in Kentucky and Washington -- but I was drawn to principals at Strategic Advisers because, like me, they are grounded in Kentucky and they understand the people, businesses, history, and government in our Commonwealth."

"As I have watched their firm grow over the past four years, I knew they were the kind of people with whom I wanted to work and I am very excited to join them in launching Omni Advocacy Group to serve clients in Kentucky, in Washington, and abroad."

"Ben Chandler brings an impeccable reputation and one of the most storied and respected names in the history of Kentucky politics to our new firm," said Crowley, who has known Chandler for more than 20 years. "His knowledge, experience, integrity and relationships stretch across Kentucky to Washington and around the globe.

"Our clients will be well served by someone who understands government, politics, and international relations and issues. We are honored and thrilled to work with Ben Chandler in our new government-relations firm."

Chandler lives with his family in Versailles, Ky., on land that has been in his family for more than 200 years. He will operate Omni's office in central Kentucky. He is the grandson of A.B. "Happy" Chandler, who served as governor of Kentucky, U.S. Senator, and commissioner of Major League Baseball. Ben Chandler also serves as executive director of the Kentucky Humanities Council.

Omni Advocacy Group now will handle the government-relations work previously provided by Strategic Advisers. Strategic Advisers will continue to provide public relations and digital media consulting services and the company will work closely with Omni to provide PR and grassroots services to the government-relations firm and its clients.
