Former Wily Vice President Joins Hyperic as Senior Vice President of Engineering

The Addition of Paul Melmon Deepens Bench of Technical Leadership


SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - July 18, 2007) - Hyperic Inc., the leader in multi-platform, open source systems management, today named Paul Melmon senior vice president of engineering. Having held senior executive positions at both Wily Technology and at Pets.com, Melmon brings more than 20 years of engineering excellence, strategic vision and exceptional execution in both infrastructure tooling and online business to his role. At Hyperic, Melmon will oversee the strategy and implementation of all engineering, development, support and product management for the company.

Prior to Hyperic, Melmon served as vice president of corporate and business development at Wily, a provider of application management solutions acquired by CA in March of 2006. At Wily, he was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of all technology partnerships and merger and acquisition activity. During his tenure at Wily, Melmon was also vice president of research and development, overseeing all design, development, and delivery of products. Before Wily, Melmon was CIO at Pets.com, where he led the team that defined and developed the company's technology and operations infrastructure.
