With over 22.5 million visits to Formspring's mobile site every month, Formspring's launch of SMS alerts is part of the company's effort to give people new ways to respond to timely topics, fun events, or interesting insights that they want to share with friends, anywhere they may be.

Available today to all U.S. residents, Formspring's new SMS alert notifications will encourage people to respond in a timely and natural way when on-the-go. It will give members an easy, effortless way to experience Formspring. A simple to activate feature within a member's Formspring's settings, members can easily turn on, customize and control Formspring SMS alerts. By enabling SMS alerts, members can respond to a question from friends, ask friends and followers a new question, and even send out a question to get responses from their other social networks. Formspring's SMS service is free for members to activate, though standard SMS fees will apply.
