Forrester Analyst Julie Katz to Address New England Direct Marketing Association's Annual Dinner

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2008) - The New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) announced today that Forrester Research's Interactive Marketing Analyst Julie Katz will address attendees at its Annual Direct Marketer of the Year Dinner to be held April 30 -- where she'll discuss the blurring of direct marketing and social media. The dinner will take place during NEDMA's 2008 Annual Conference, which runs from April 30 - May 1 in Waltham, MA.

Katz will reveal to the audience her thoughts on how direct marketing no longer consists of merely optimizing mailings, but rather about communicating the most relevant messages to the most appropriate audience -- and that today's direct marketer, compared to those of even a few years ago, must have skills that permeate a broader spectrum of marketing activities.

"Everyone in the direct marketing industry is aware of the major shifts taking place in the industry -- but no one is more qualified to share her views of these changes than Julie Katz," said Craig Blake, president of NEDMA. "Her research is focused on the very area where today's direct marketer needs to concentrate on so Julie's comments should be seriously regarded. This will be one of the best opportunities direct marketers in New England will have this year to hear from one of the most highly regarded interactive marketing experts in the industry."

"Marketing as a whole is experiencing tremendous changes, but one of the biggest segments to be affected by this is Direct. Programs in this category need to extend to other media and channels, including online display ads and social networking in order to touch specific consumers with highly targeted messages," said Katz.

If you're looking for dramatic, fast improvements to your marketing program -- NEDMA '08 is the place to be! With four workshops and 15 interactive sessions, this is the only marketing event in New England where you'll find this level of expertise and new ideas in one venue.
