Fort Collins Foreign Car Service Confirms Record Sales

FORT COLLINS, CO--(Marketwired - Aug 21, 2013) - Fort Collins Foreign Car Service is happy to confirm record sales numbers this summer, along with a dramatic increase in service and maintenance work performed.

Sales are up at least 18% right now, both on domestic and imported cars. These sales take into account the summer months compared to an average of the year's sales. Summer is often the time people choose to buy cars, with April and October being the slower sales months.

Maintenance and repair work is also being scheduled for a lot of customers. Typically, services range from an oil change to extensive repairs. The biggest problems recently have been radiators and bad batteries. These issues are more common during the summer months. But there's an unexpected problem with the batteries as well, since new cars rarely give a signal that the battery is failing. Instead, the driver is stranded when the battery suddenly dies.

Repairs are often being performed on older cars as people continue driving reliable cars rather than trading them in for newer models.

Bill Cooper, owner of the shop, has his own theories about what is happening. "I think maybe people are fixing their cars instead of buying new," he said recently. "The economy's supposed to be turning around, but we still see a lot of maintenance on older cars. I know I prefer to fix, but I'm a mechanic so I can make them run forever."

Air conditioning upkeep is a constant summer chore, but there have been fewer of those repairs for now. Lower-than-usual temperatures and high amounts of rainfall have kept cars on the road cooler than they generally are this time of year. An oil change and regular maintenance are enough to keep cars in good shape.

Fort Collins Foreign Car Service has been in business for 27 years, ever since Cooper bought the shop in his mid-20s. They are proud to offer exhaustive maintenance and repair work on a long list of domestic and imported cars. Located in north Fort Collins, the shop is easily accessible to everyone in the area who has auto trouble or questions.
