LIVONIA, MI--(Marketwired - Apr 24, 2013) - WorkForce Software, the leading provider of workforce management solutions for organizations with complex labor policies and stringent compliance demands, today announced that Fort Wayne Community Schools has selected its EmpCenter suite to improve the efficiency of time capture, pay rule calculation, and leave case management for all employees.
The largest school district in Indiana, Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) educates more than 30,000 students each year and operates 51 schools ranging from pre-K through high school. In an effort to redesign and optimize its HR processes, the school district has embarked on a multi-phased overhaul of its core systems, starting with the areas that bring the greatest return on investment.
For FWCS, the starting point was workforce management.
"An evaluation of our current processes made clear that removing manual intervention from time capture, attendance tracking, and FMLA compliance would generate the greatest time and cost savings for our organization," commented Jack Byrd, Director of Technology for FWCS. "We wanted a solution that could accommodate our intricate K-12 requirements as well as our compliance demands, without customization or work outside the system."
As a large school district, FWCS contends with a number of complex workforce management issues unique to K-12 education, including multiple assignments. Additionally, the district's distributed locations needed a standard approach to managing critical HR and compliance functions, while also allowing for unique or site-specific requirements. After a detailed review of providers with K-12 expertise, the district chose to partner with WorkForce Software.
"We are excited about the implementation of WorkForce Software's EmpCenter suite because it helps address two critical goals on a single platform," added Byrd. "EmpCenter's configurability allows us to automate all of our complex pay rules, while its ACT solution provides an unmatched degree of case management and compliance support for the FMLA."
FWCS will be able to streamline multiple assignments and other intricate K-12 requirements with EmpCenter -- delivering substantial efficiencies gains as a result. These improvements, combined with the ability to centralize leave management and simplify compliance with the FMLA across the enterprise, represent major milestones in the district's initiative to transform HR.
"Fort Wayne Community Schools has an ambitious roadmap for improving efficiencies throughout the organization," added Mark Kurowski, Vice President of Global Services. "We are delighted to welcome another K-12 district into our client community, and look forward to helping them streamline FMLA compliance and other key workforce processes."
