Fortinet Named "Very Threatening" Network Security Appliance Vendor in Leading Independent Research

Current Analysis Market Assessment Also Ranks Fortinet's "Very Positive" Company Momentum Ahead of 43 Other Vendors

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2008) - Fortinet® -- the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced that it has been named a "very threatening" force in the enterprise network security market in a new assessment by Current Analysis, a leading independent research firm. In a recent enterprise security market assessment, the research firm also ranked Fortinet as having "very positive" momentum -- a ranking higher than 43 other network security vendors.

Among other things, the report cites that Fortinet's strong position is attributed to broad scalability of its leading FortiGate™ multi-threat security appliances; logging, reporting and management solutions; and quick and effective threat response from the company's FortiGuard Network, which, supported by the FortiGuard Global Security Research Team, provides subscription services and 24x7 updates to antivirus, intrusion prevention (IPS), Web content filtering and antispam capabilities to enable protection against content- and network-level threats.

Fortinet also continues to be ranked a Tier 1 vendor in the research firm's most recent enterprise security market assessment. Current Analysis defines Tier 1 vendors as market leaders, at or near the top of market share, who shape the direction of their respective market. Other Tier 1 enterprise security vendors include Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Nokia and others.

"The FortiGate family of enterprise security appliances is very threatening in the UTM market, where Fortinet has established itself as a strong competitive threat and has solidified its position with a combination of products and services that have generated strong customer momentum," said Charlotte Dunlap, senior analyst for Current Analysis. "Fortinet is putting growing pressure on the market incumbents from a feature, functionality and security services perspective and has built a broad portfolio that has lead to many customer wins against major competitors in significant accounts."

Delivered via its flagship family of FortiGate appliances, Fortinet provides a flexible platform that enables enterprises and service providers of all sizes to consolidate critical security technology and services to maximize network protection and reduce total cost of ownership.
