Fortinet Receives 'Very Positive' Rating From Leading Independent Research Firm

Analyst Firm Also Reports Fortinet Is "Very Threatening" to Other Security Vendors Due to Innovation, Customer Adoption and Competitive Displacement

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 11, 2006 -- Fortinet -- the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions -- today announced that it received a "very positive" rating in the most recent "Unified Threat Management (UTM) Market Assessment" by Current Analysis, a leading research firm. In a separate Product Assessment report issued last month, the research firm called Fortinet "very threatening" to other vendors due to the innovation of its FortiGate™ multi-threat security systems, rapid customer adoption across all market sizes, and competitive displacements.

"Fortinet is well positioned to compete across multiple markets with a broad portfolio of both products and services," said Charlotte Dunlap, analyst for Current Analysis. "Fortinet continues to make enhancements to the FortiGate appliance line, including a significant performance boost recently, in order to meet enterprise, carrier and MSSP needs."

According to the report, Fortinet is displacing other market upstarts and putting growing pressure on market incumbents from a feature, functionality and security services perspective.

All FortiGate systems deliver comprehensive network and content protection through the integration of eight essential security applications and services -- including antivirus, firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-spam, anti-spyware, Web filtering and traffic shaping. The systems are kept up to date automatically by Fortinet's FortiGuard subscription services, which provide continuous updates to ensure protection against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, and other threats -- around the clock, and around the world.
