Fortinet's FortiClient™ Ranked No. 1 in Security Products Test Performed by French News Magazine

Fortinet's End-Point Security Software Receives Top Marks From Le Point in a Test Conducted on 30 PC Security Software Products

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - December 5, 2007) - Fortinet® -- the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced that Le Point, one of the leading French weekly news magazines, ranked FortiClient™ end-point security software No. 1 in a test on parental control personal computer (PC) security products. FortiClient's robust and effective Web filtering capabilities garnered it the top ranking over 29 other vendors' solutions tested, including Microsoft Windows Vista and Check Point ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2007.

To conduct this test, Le Point partnered with Action Innocence, an independent organization that helps preserve the dignity and the integrity of children over the Internet. For the test, keyword searches in various search engines were performed against a sample database of 350 Web sites. The 30 products were evaluated on effective Web filtering, software options and the ease of use and configuration. According to editors at Le Point, the best products are either fully integrated in a broader security solution or part of the computer's operating system. These products produce strong performance with high filtering rates and a minimal number of false positives, which is essential to allow users to access critical information while still protecting them from inappropriate sites.

"Le Point's test results validate the robustness of our FortiClient solution and Web filtering capabilities," said Freddy Mangum, vice president of product marketing for Fortinet. "The Internet has become a critical part of life, from a personal, educational and business perspective, and it is essential that it remains a safe place for all. The Web filtering technology in our FortiClient solution is based on industry-leading databases and provides extensive and granular ratings with 76 different categories, among which include parental controls. It is effectively being used by numerous educational institutions, government entities, businesses and consumers worldwide."
