According to Associate Publisher David Drimer, "Much of our annual section highlights the great research, advancements and profiles of the work dedicated to helping Jewish people who share common genetic traits to stay healthy. Any organization wishing to obtain bulk quantities can use it to distribute to its constituents, courtesy of the Forward."

Among the stories in this 10 page supplement are:

restart a clinical trial of a potential treatment for the disorder after a
    drug company dropped it.
-- A story on a new screening program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in
Los Angeles focused on genetic disorders common among Persian Jews.
-- An in-depth look at the screening situation for the genetic diseases
that afflict Sephardic and other non-Ashkenazic Jews, which are often
overshadowed by the more well-known Ashkenazic genetic disorders.
-- An Israeli chemist's adaptation of an antibiotic that could be used in
the future to treat genetic disorders such as cystic fibrosis and Usher
-- A focus on the recent shortage of the main drug used to treat Gaucher
disease, even as new potential treatments for the disease have emerged.
-- A profile on geneticist David Goldstein (author of "Jacob's Legacy: A
Genetic View of Jewish History") looks at some of the mysteries of Jewish
history and suggests how genetic research may help to answer them.
