LAKE FOREST, IL--(Marketwire - Nov 27, 2012) - Forward Market Media (FMM) in partnership with ESPN today announced the launch of three forward markets for the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl, the Meineke Car Care Bowl and the BBVA Compass Bowl, offering fans advanced access to tickets through FMM's unique reservation platform. Forward Market Media adds these three Bowls to their robust portfolio of partners, giving fans across the nation the ability to reserve the right to purchase face-value tickets when their team qualifies for the biggest games in college sports.
The launch of these platforms underscores Forward Market Media's commitment to sports fans nationwide, providing affordable access to the games that matter most to them. The company not only is now partnering with nearly every major organization in college football, including all of the BCS Bowls and the Big Ten Championship Game, but is also expanding its offering into college basketball with markets launched for the Champions Classic in Atlanta and the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. With five weeks until the Bowls start kicking off, the company is demonstrating strong momentum revealing the unique opportunity the forward market system provides both fans and rights holders.
Here's how it works: Football fans from across the nation can go to the official site of these Bowls to purchase a "TeamTix" reservation for the game for as little as $10. If their team receives a berth in that Bowl, that fan purchases a ticket to the game at face value. If the fan's team is not selected for the Bowl, the reservation expires. Fans can also resell or trade their ticket reservation in the Bowl's hosted market exchange, where reservation prices rise and fall based on each team's on-field performance and demand for tickets. In addition, special team-specific Twitter hashtags will enable fans to closely follow their team's forward marketplace to buy, sell and trade in real time.
"The fans are the foundation of what makes these Bowl games such unforgettable events and each organization is committed to providing the best possible experience for those fans," states Michael Saks, chief operating officer of the Orange Bowl Committee. "The forward market helps ensure the stadium is filled with the loyal fans, alumni and students who care the most about the game while enhancing the way fans engage throughout the entire season. We're using this ticket reservation system for both the Orange Bowl as well as the BCS Championship Game this year and it really is a game changer."
According to Scott McKibben, CEO of Forward Market Media, "We couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to team-up with every major college Bowl game, to bring fans advanced access to the tickets they desire. We are committed to helping our partners facilitate a great fan experience and our ticket reservation system delivers on that commitment."
Forward Market Media's reservation platform is tested and proven. This year's platform features refined navigation tools, an improved, user-friendly interface and enhanced social media connectivity -- helping to fill stadiums across the country with diehard fans.
