The Forward Receives the 2008 Interactive Media Award for "Outstanding Achievement" in a Newspaper Website

Second Consecutive Award for America's Most Influential Jewish Newspaper Site

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 18, 2008) - The Forward, America's most influential Jewish newspaper, has received a 2008 Interactive Media Award for "Outstanding Achievement" for (, the weekly publication's website.

For the second consecutive year, judges chose the Forward website based on excellence in a variety of different categories, which included: achievement in design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance.

"We are honored to be recognized in the Interactive Media Awards again in 2008. It is always gratifying for a smaller, independent news organization to be recognized along with media giants with far more extensive resources at their disposal. Unlike some traditional print publications, we've embraced the opportunities created by the Internet and it has paid off in terms of site traffic and influence," said David Drimer, publisher of the Forward and executive director of the Forward Association.

Created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc., a non-profit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the competition seeks to elevate standards of excellence on the Internet.

"We especially thank and congratulate web editor Daniel Treiman, webmaster Aram David and marketing director Mark Kamen for their achievements," Drimer said.
