Foster Wheeler Secures Contract to Supply Solar Power System to Abu Dhabi Plant, an Industrial Info News Alert

BANGALORE, INDIA--(Marketwire - November 22, 2010) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Foster Wheeler Global Power Group (Clinton, New Jersey), a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler Limited (NASDAQ:FWLT) (Zug, Switzerland), has been awarded a contract to design and deliver equipment for the proposed 100-megawatt (MW) Shams-1 solar power plant at Madinat Zayed, which is near Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The equipment will be delivered during the third quarter of next year. Foster Wheeler has received approvals to proceed with the project immediately.

The Shams-1 project is being jointly developed by Total S.A. (NYSE:TOT) (Paris, France), Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) and Abengoa S.A. (MCE:ABG) (Seville, Spain). Masdar holds a majority stake of 60% in the venture.
