Founders Club Radio Features Alexander Haas and Ames Scullin O'Haire

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - April 07, 2015) - On March 4, 2015, Founders Club Radio welcomed to the studio David King with Alexander Haas and Patrick Scullin with Ames Scullin O'Haire. Host John Coffin sat down with these guests to discuss being creative, the psychology of marketing, leveraging your company's culture, and lying by the stream for inspiration.

King is President and CEO of Alexander Haas, a fundraising consulting firm that works with nonprofits across the nation. Headquartered in Atlanta, they are the only national firm whose consultants all work out of a central office and, thus, have continuous access to professional staff support and peer review. Alexander Haas has provided fundraising counsel and conducted successful campaigns for nearly 1,000 organizations of virtually every type, from across the country, with goals ranging from $1 million to more than $1 billion.

However, size is not everything and Alexander Haas is committed to the high level of personal service that is required for a client's fundraising success. "The other piece that we really try to keep focused on at all times is we have to give the client the advice that we believe in our minds and in our hearts is the best course of action for them, whether they want to hear it or not and whether it's good for us or not," said King. "That's one of the hallmarks of the firm, that we're really not as much focused on things like billing and hours and things like that, where a lot of service firms get bogged down, and more focused on outcome for the client. If we keep our eye on that, the long-term benefit for the firm will be greater than what the short-term sacrifice is."

Joining in the discussion was Patrick Scullin, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Ames Scullin O'Haire, an advertising and marketing firm that specializes in working directly with the client to build their brand. They deliver innovative creative, media, brand planning, public relations, digital and social media that helps clients grow sales, market share and consumer engagement.

Scullin explained the process of triggering emotions through advertising. "Well, I think you have to figure out that there's that balance of the science of studying human behavior and the art of how you're reaching people. How are you triggering emotions? Because let's face it, we all like to be rational beings, but the fact of the matter is most of us spend our money to satisfy an emotion. Then we use our rational brain to justify the purchases we've made. So I think you really have to have an understanding of people and what is connecting to them and what's magical about them."
